Eligibility

1.    Mediumof instructions: Bengali/ English

2.    TheB.Ed. programme shall be of a duration of two academic sessions, which can becompleted in a maximum of three years from the date of admission to theprogramme.

3.    10%of the seats for self-financed colleges and 10% of the seats for the Departmentof Teacher Education, WBUTTEPA (David Hare Campus) will be reserved for Deputedteachers of classes VI-XII. Deputed teachers mean the teachers serving insubstantive posts.

4.    Eligibility:

·        Candidatesshould be Graduates in a school subject from a recognized university.

·        Candidateswith at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree(General) / or in theMaster's Degree in School subjects are eligible to apply.

·        Bachelor'sin Engineering or Technology with Science and/or Mathematics, with 55% marks orany other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission.Such candidates are required to enter the marks of B.E/ B. Tech. in the row ofHonours Degree. M.E. / M. Tech result (if any) will be entered in the Master'sDegree row.

·        HonoursGraduates in school subject should enter the Honours marks only in the row ofBachelor's degree (Honours).

·        Incase of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects shouldbe entered in the row of Bachelor's degree (General).

·        Forcandidates with less than 50% marks in the honours degree, the total marks ofpass and Honours subjects will be considered. If it becomes 50% or more, thatscore will be entered in Graduation (General) row.

·        Forfresh candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each schoolsubject based on scoring.

·        ForDeputed Candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each schoolsubject based on length of service.

5.    Reservationof seats in Department of Teacher Education, WBUTTEPA (David Hare Campus) forSC/ST/OBC(A/B)/PWD (Minimum disability 40%) candidates will be as per Govt.Rules. The reservation as stated is not applicable for Self-financed colleges.

6.    Relaxationof 5% in the qualifying marks will be allowed in graduation or postgraduationin case of SC/ST/PWD ( Minimum disability 40%)candidates. That is, in suchcases minimum 45% marks will be required instead of 50% marks.

7.    School subjects of teaching offered are those which have beenstated in the New Curriculum of WBUTTEPA :

8.    Admission procedure for B.Ed. Course (for Fresh Candidates):
Admission will be on the basis of scores against marks obtained in qualifyingexaminations and as per norms of University. Maximum Scores against marks fordifferent level of examinations will be as follows:

10.  Forscoring in HS, the marks obtained in best five subjects excluding EnvironmentalStudies will be considered.

11.  Candidatesapplying with CGPA/SGPA scores must submit supporting documents in respect ofconversion from CGPA/SGPA score to percentage of marks from appropriateauthority at the time of admission

12.  DeputedTeachers (as per NCTE norms) from recognized Secondary & Higher SecondarySchool of West Bengal are eligible to apply.

13.  Pleasenote very carefully that as per letterF.No. DEB/QMC/2013 dated 23.08.2013issued by the University Grant Commission (UGC),Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, NewDelhi - 110002, University established or incorporated by or under a State Actshall operate Open and Distance Learning(ODL) programme only within theterritorial jurisdiction allotted to it under the Act and in no case beyond theterritory of the State of its location. Hence, candidates who have obtaineddegree through ODL mode of learning and wish to apply for admission under thisUniversity must fulfil the above criteria issued by UGC.

14.  Onthe basis of on-line submission of application and counselling the Universityshall prepare a merit list without verification of the accuracy andauthenticity of the data submitted by the applicants. The rank of the meritlist may change due to any inaccuracy / insufficiency and lack of authenticityof the data entered. Applicants shall remain responsible for the inaccuracy /insufficiency and lack of authenticity of the data entered and the candidaturemay be refused at any stage of admission and even during the continuation ofthe programme. Admission will be offered by the respective College / departmentafter verification of the accuracy / sufficiency and authenticity of the dataentered based upon the panel sent by the University.



For Deputed Candidates

Applicants deputed by School must submit an attested copy of M.C.resolution recording the approval of Service in regard to his/herservice with the form.

Following additional documents are required to be submitted positively on the day ofjoining the B.Ed. programmes in institutions under the University:

1.    Releaseorder from the Headmaster / Headmistress.

2.    Attestedcopy of M.C. resolution with regards to his/her deputation, countersigned by D.I. of Schools (Secondary).

3.    Certificatefrom Competent Authority whether the candidate teaches in Class VI or above.

4.    Threecopies of passport size photographs of the applicant.

5.    Deputationform duly filled in (available from the Institution after admission)

6.    Acertificate with the following information is to be submitted from theSecretary or Headmaster/Headmistress (where he/she is serving) and countersigned by the D.I. of Schools of the District concerned:

·        Certifiedthat the School is in receipt of aid on full/ deficit/ lumpsum grant basis orthat school in unaided or salary deficit scheme one.

·        Certifiedthat she/he is duly approved teacher.

·        Certifiedthat she/he is duly approved teacher.

·        Certifiedthat she/he is being deputed by the school for undergoing two year B.Ed.Courses (2020-22)



Candidates pursuing anyother course in the WBUTTEPA or any other University during 2020-22 academicsession are not eligible for admission to the B. Ed. programme for the session2020-22.

Application fee is Rs. 600/- for General / OBC-A / OBC-Bcandidates and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates (APPLICATION FEE APPLICABLEONLY FOR SELF-FINANCED COLLEGES).
